Aimee Tesdahl MA, LMHC, CMHS
Aimee is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist. She graduated Whitworth University with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, specializing in individual, child and family therapy. Since beginning her therapy practice, she has worked with individuals and families of all ages and stages.
Aimee specializes in treating children, youth, and young adults ages 4 and up. She treats children and youth for behavioral issues, anxiety, depression and trauma and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy for these concerns. She also specializes in sexual trauma as well as child and youth trauma. She has been trained in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and CORE Training for treating sexual abuse, and is an OCVA (Office of Crime Victim Advocacy) certified therapist for trauma and abuse. She also currently treats adults for a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, self esteem, identity issues, grief and relationship concerns.
Aimee enjoys working with a variety of ages and concerns. Her work is based on evidence based practices and she often uses an integrated approach to best meet a client’s needs. With all individuals, she uses a client-centered approach and focuses on building a safe relationship with each person. Aimee will come alongside the client or family in their walk toward healing and reaching their goals by providing support, a space to process, tools, and skills as they find helpful. She is holistic in her approach to therapy, focusing on emotions as well as interpersonal, relational, physical and spiritual aspects of one’s life. Clients are welcome to bring their own faith and beliefs into the therapy process as they feel comfortable.
