Kate Konzelman, MS, LMHCA is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State. She earned her Master of Science degree in Childhood Trauma & Development Counseling from Queens University Belfast. Before joining the Shepherds Center, Kate worked as a behavioral therapist for children, youth and families within the foster system. She specializes in childhood trauma, PTSD, family or origin issues, grief, and anxiety. Kate focuses in the treatment of adolescents but also treats children, young adults, and their families.
The theoretical methods in Kate’s therapeutic approach include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Developmental Theory, Attachment models, Emotional Focused Therapy, as well as her Christian Principles. Additionally, she is trained in Lifespan Integration therapy. Kate will work with each individual or family in order to best assess their desired outcomes and needs.
Whether you are having difficulties with a relationship, wrestling through identity and family of origin questions, or healing from a trauma or painful loss, Kate will provide a safe and peaceful place for you to process and begin your healing. Her philosophy for counseling is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where together you can identify underlying obstacles and equip you with tools to help you on a journey towards holistic wellness.
