Counseling Specialties and Approach
Catherine’s style of therapy is warm, accepting, and compassionate. She uses a collaborative and client-led approach, called Internal Family Systems therapy. This model helps clients develop a deeper acceptance for who they are and gain freedom from painful feelings and experiences. She offers a safe and supportive place, where clients will go beyond traditional talk therapy and move toward wholeness and healing.
She specializes in helping adults and couples facing a variety of issues such as the effects of childhood traumas, relationship distress, divorce, grief and loss, disordered eating patterns, family conflict, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Her experiences as a mother and wife have informed and strengthened her understanding of the difficult but rewarding task of parenting and partnership. She applies her training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help couples experience greater closeness, connection, and hope for their future.
She is an in-network provider for Regence Blue Shield, Premera Blue Cross, and First Choice Health Network, and is available to work out of network for many other insurance companies.
