Sandra Milton is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who accepts many major insurances. She has worked in the counseling field since 1982 and been in private practice since 2001. In her private practice, she works with individuals, couples and families in whatever arrangement seems most appropriate to the client’s counseling need.
Sandra’s counseling approach draws from various therapeutic techniques including skills building to enhance communication, emotion management, coping, parenting etc.; incorporating an educational component; assigning homework to make use of time between sessions; spiritual/Biblical (when desired by the client) components; mindfulness; and Lifespan Integration—a gentle, body-based therapeutic method which heals without re-traumatizing.
Sandra’s areas of clinical experience and interest include: Marital/Couple Issues; Depression; Anger Management; Anxiety; Behavioral Issues; Parenting Concerns; Divorce Recovery; Step Families; Grief and Loss; Faith Issues; Adoption Issues and many others.
Sandra is married (later in life) with two adopted sons—one domestic and one international— and adult stepchildren. For soul sustenance, she enjoys gardening, outdoor activities, hospitality and reading.
