Stephen is available for in person appointments (Wednesday evenings, 5:30-7:30pm; Thursday mornings, 9am-12pm; and Fridays, 12pm-6pm) and by telehealth (Sundays, 3-6pm/Mondays, 6-9 pm).
Stephen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and counseling faculty member at a local 2-year college. In his private practice, Stephen works with works with adolescents (14+) and adults in addressing mental health, career, performance, and education-major decision-making/learning related concerns.
Related to mental health, the therapeutic focus is on improving wellness and self-esteem. Stephen is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional & utilizes CBT, DBT, and EMDR in helping individuals work through and resolve traumatic experiences. Stephen also uses his 28 year educational background to engage clients in discussions of meaning, growth, and achieving their potential. He utilizes narrative therapy since your story and life experiences are the lens with which you view and experience the world. He will listen to your concerns and help you explore solutions using a strengths-based model of care.

In this arena, Stephen is not qualified to administer educational testing for classroom accommodations or make recommendations for IEP/504 plans in schools. The goal of educational counseling is to reduce anxiety while increasing self-awareness, confidence, motivation, and performance.
