Alicia Steckler, M.Ed., LMHC
Please note that Alicia is not currently accepting new clients, due to having a full practice. If you want her to contact you when she has an opening, please request this of her.
Alicia has worked in mental health settings since 2007 varying from outpatient clinics to an inpatient children’s psychiatric hospital, as well as providing intensive treatment for youth and families in crisis. She has been in private practice since 2014 and enjoys working with a variety of clients.
She has experience working with children, youth, young-middle aged adults She specialized in anxiety, trauma, depression, behavioral problems, attachment, and grief/loss.
She is a Child Mental Health Specialist, has national certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and has received training/consultation in CBT Plus and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is an Approved Supervisor in WA State and has background providing supervision to professionals seeking licensure.
Alicia believes in ongoing growth and development as a person and therapist, and participates in consultation/trainings to strengthen her skill set. Her professional memberships include National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
She finds it is useful to incorporate a strength-based approach as individuals are not defined by their past, but who they are in the moment. However, when childhood experiences, traumatic events, or negative beliefs about self are in the way of moving forward, she finds that addressing those in a supportive environment can bring a sense of freedom.
Alicia feels it is a privilege to do this work, and very much enjoys witnessing people fight for healthier and happier lives. She wants her clients to get what they need out of the treatment process and to know they will receive quality care.
She can be reached at 253-858-2224 ext 266 or firstname.lastname@example.org and to read more, view her site aliciastecklercounseling.com
